On Thursday, October 12, Coahoma Community College's Division of Career & Technical
Education hosted the National Technical Honor Society induction ceremony in the B.F.
McLaurin Building's Gallery, where 26 students were recognized.
Since its establishment in 1984, the National Technical Honor Society remains committed
to celebrating individuals who embody excellence, values, courage, and achievement.
Triccie Hudson, the Career Technical Education Director of Clarksdale Municipal School
District, delivered the keynote address, imparting three key messages: pursue your
passion as your profession, strive to complete your goals, and acquire the skills
necessary for success. She shared her personal journey of staying true to her passion
and encouraged students to overcome obstacles in their pursuit of their dreams.
During the "Complete to Compete" segment, Hudson urged inductees to persevere in achieving
their goals, emphasizing that others are watching and looking up to them.
Hudson's final point emphasized the importance of gaining skills that translate into
financial stability, assuring students that Career and Technical Education (CTE) leads
to rewarding careers.
In conclusion, Hudson encouraged inductees to self-reflect and gain self-motivation
as they progress through their programs. Students received their honors certificates,
recited the National Technical Honor Society pledge, and received words of encouragement
from Hanna Pierce, Assistant Director/Transfer Recruiter of Mississippi State University.
Dr. Larry Webster, Dean of Career Technical Education at CCC, provided closing remarks
to welcome the new inductees.
